At Weston Community Preschool, the environment is viewed as the third teacher, contributing significantly to children's learning and development.

Indoor

Our indoor environments include:

• One classroom available for all children to access.

• Our large, well-furnished preschool room is light, welcoming, and airy, featuring:

  • A variety of learning stations based on children's interests.

  • Table-based learning experiences.

  • A quiet area for rest, reflection, and relaxation.

• A wide range of resources that support children's learning and development.

Outdoor

The area includes:

• Bush tucker garden
• Yarning circle and fire pit
• Community vegetable and herb gardens
• Fruit trees
• Therapy frame
• Dirt and sand pits
• Bike track
• Worm farm and compost system
• Climbing equipment
• Swings
• Hill and tunnel
• Boardwalk and dry creek bed
• Cubby house
• Fairy Garden

At Weston Community Preschool, children are not excluded from any component of the program. We see it as our responsibility to adapt experiences and environments so all children can participate fully in opportunities, they choose to engage in.
